Helen Westman

Bio

Helen is a seasoned legal professional with over 14 years of experience in commercial litigation, corporate law, and dispute resolution. Her background includes complex matters such as breach of contract, lease and shareholder disputes, employment law advisory, and legal risk mitigation. She applies a pragmatic, business-focused approach to ensure legal strategies are aligned with her clients’ commercial goals.
Before joining the Norling Law A-Team, Helen was a partner at a respected South African law firm. Throughout her career Helen has served as a Registrar in the South African courts, where she gained valuable insight into court procedures, judicial processes, and the inner workings of the legal system. This foundational experience provided her with a deep appreciation for litigation strategy and procedural precision. 

After transitioning into private practice, her dedication, legal acumen, and client-focused approach saw her rise through the ranks to become a Partner. In this leadership role, she managed complex commercial litigation matters, mentored junior attorneys, and played a key role in shaping firm strategy. These experiences have equipped her with strong advocacy skills and a well-rounded, practical understanding of the legal landscape.

Helen holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Law) and an LLB from the University of Johannesburg, along with an LLM in Corporate Law from the University of the Witwatersrand. She has also completed an Advanced Short Course in Business Rescue with distinction through UNISA and the Certified Rescue Analyst Program at the University of Pretoria.
